Mick Doohan, AM, is one of Australia’s most successful and decorated athletes.

On the Track

• Five consecutive 500cc Motorcycle World Championships between 1994 – 1998
• Top three podium finishes in all 14 rounds in the 1994 500cc World Championships
• Won 12 of 15 races in the 1997 500cc World Championship – his most successful year
• Won the 2nd heat of the Japenese round and both heats in Australia for the inaugral World Superbike Championship

 
Achievements

• Australian Male Athlete of the Year in 1995, 1996 & 1997.
• Australian Sports Personality of the Year in 1998.
• Received an Member of the Order of Australia in 1996.
• Three-time inductee into the Australian Sports Hall of Fame from 1994-1996.
